There's plenty of space for the children to run and have a wonderful time ...
The view down towards the goat paddock
Snapdown is approached down our private tree lined half mile lane and is very safe for children - with space for them to run and have a wonderful time.
It is ideal for both country loving families and couples, with sheep, goats, ponies and extensive wildlife on the land.
Each caravan has wooden seats and a picnic table outside. There are barbecues for your use, and there is plenty of space well away from passing traffic for cricket and ball games.
As part of the business we rescue many goats, ponies, rabbits, guinea pigs, turkeys, ducks, chicken, cats and other animals and you and your children would be very welcome to meet them and hear their stories.

Adventures in Cackles Corner ...
There is a fenced children’s play area in 'Cackles Corner', the small wood adjoining the caravans - so the children are within easy reach, yet just out of the way.
Also they and you can play table tennis in one of the buildings just across the lane - if you are keen players bring your bats and balls.

Places to go ...
Snapdown is well placed, and an ideal base for touring North Devon. The market towns of South Molton and Barnstaple, both with bustling Pannier Markets, are within easy reach, as are Bideford, with its old quay, and Great Torrington with the enchanting 65 acre RHS Garden at Rosemoor.
The small picturesque villages of Chittlehamholt and Chittlehampton are about 1¼ and 3 miles away - each with a very handy local shop. Plenty of local pubs serve meals: The Bell at Chittlehampton, The Castle at George Nympton, The Grove at Kings Nympton, The Stags Head at Filleigh, etc. There are some excellent cafes, coffee shops, fish and chip shops etc in South Molton.

Spectacular coastline ...
The whole stretch of the North Devon coastline is easily accessible: from Lynton and Lynmouth, the little town which survived the dreadful flood of 1952, with its really marvellous scenery and famous old Cliff Railway (a 45° slope and powered by water); to Combe Martin and Ilfracombe, with boats to South Wales and Lundy Island; then to Woolacombe, Westward Ho!, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton, each with a lovely big golden sandy beach ideal for sandcastles, sunbathing, swimming and surfing; on again to Instow and Appledore, both fishing and boating villages; finally Clovelly, the very quaint and unique little smugglers’ haunt - well worth a visit, but wear comfortable shoes!
There are also plenty of privately owned, indoor and outdoor attractions - but these have an entrance charge of course.

Walking, riding and fishing ...
The marvellous walking and riding country of Exmoor, with its ponies, red deer and tumbling moorland streams, is close by. The rugged tors of Dartmoor and the coast of South Devon are within a 1½ hour drive. Numerous little villages dot the area, with their lovely old churches, thatched cottages and pubs.
Fishing is available at Umberleigh, by arrangement, or in water board lakes and reservoirs. The 22 acres of lakes at Stafford Moor are about ½ hour’s drive away, and there are several privately owned course lakes in the area.
